Courteney Cox Gushes About Her Longtime BF Johnny McDaid: ‘He’s My Guy, He’s My One’
Oooh la la! While Courteney Cox keeps things with her longtime boyfriend, Johnny McDaid, relatively low-key and doesn’t speak about their private relationship too often, she recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and was surprisingly open about her “partner.” She even added that their romance has confused people in her home region of the south.
Courteney got a kick out of the host referring to Johnny as her “man friend” during the interview on Jan. 7. The 54-year-old revealed that she had just come back from spending 10 days with her beau, 42, in London before appearing on the talk show.
“My man friend? That’s good. I don’t know if that would go over very well,” the actress joked. The brunette beauty went on to explain what she and her beau actually call each other. “He’s my partner. That’s what he calls it, my partner. And I’m from Alabama, so you don’t really say partner unless you’re in the same sex.”
“He’s my guy, he’s my one, but saying partner’s difficult for me,” Courteney gushed before she told a funny story about a mixup that happened to the couple.
“I was in Atlanta not that long ago and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m supposed to meet my partner in section F,’ and they were like, ‘Oh, I’m sure she’s going to be there, don’t worry about it,'” the Friends actress said. “Not that it matters, but it’s just a different way to speak.”
What she conveniently left out was their actual relationship status. He may be her “one,” but will they make things official and tie the knot?
After Courteney’s divorce from David Arquette in 2011, she and the Snow Patrol guitarist got engaged in 2014. They broke up briefly in 2015, but reconciled and have been together since 2016. During her Jimmy Kimmel appearance, the mom of one did have a ring on her left hand, but it’s unclear if it’s the ring or just a piece of jewelry.
For now, it looks like Courteney and Johnny are extremely happy together. Time will tell if they’ll take a walk down the aisle.
