The last person DeMario Jackson would have ever thought would come to his defense is his ex-girlfriend.

But Lexi Thexton — who was briefly introduced to Bachelor Nation during the second episode Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette — has spoken out about the shocking allegations against her ex-boyfriend in the midst of the Bachelor in Paradise scandal. In a video interview with TMZ, she gave more insight into DeMario’s character and she seemed adamant that he is not capable of the claims that he’s currently facing.

“He loves to drink, he’s like a 30-year-old man-child, he goes to music festivals every weekend, he’s drunk every night, like he is literally always partying,” she told TMZ. “So like I said, I was not at all shocked that he got wasted and got involved in some drama, but it doesn’t sound to me like he was predatory or like, an aggressor. It sounds like the situation got messy and she kind of wanted to cover up for herself.”

Last week, production on Season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise was halted after a producer claimed there was “misconduct” on the set of the popular Bachelor/Bachelorette spinoff. Many witnessed claimed that DeMario and his co-star Corinne Olympios (who starred on Nick Viall’s season) engaged in a drunken sexual encounter when Corinne was allegedly too drunk to consent and she may have been unconscious.

Lexi said that she’s been around DeMario when he was drunk and she said that his demeanor is usually “fun” and “playful,” and she said she never witnessed him acting in an aggressive way. She also said that she doesn’t think that he is the type of person who would take advantage of anyone who was unconscious.

“I don’t think his character’s been ruined but I definitely think it’s super harmful to someone’s life if rape or assault claims are being brought against them,” she continued. “Like I said, I truly hate him, I think he’s a shitty guy, he’s self-absorbed, he’s not a good person but I don’t think he would do something like this, I really don’t.”
