Stop EverythingThe ‘Dirty Dancing’ Resort Is Actually Real and You Can Vacation There!

The Dirty Dancing resort is the perfect place to have the time of your life!

Just because the classic film premiered 30 years ago doesn’t mean that fans can’t relive the whirlwind romance between Baby Houseman (played by Jennifer Grey) and Johnny Castle (played by Patrick Swayze). Although Kellerman’s — the upscale resort in the Catskill Mountains where the movie takes place — is, in fact, fictional, the resort where the film was shot is real.

Mountain Lake Lodge, located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, was used for many of the movie’s most memorable scenes. The infamous “water lift,” dining room, beach games, and Houseman family cabin scenes were all shot there.

So, not only can fans practice their dance moves in this Virginia paradise, but it’s also a beautiful place to host events. The lodge’s website boasts photos of scenic mountain shots and even (wait for it) wedding photos! That’s right, you can tie the knot at the beautiful resort where Baby and Johnny fell in love. What better way to begin a marriage?
