Morgan Duncan’s Disappearance and Death Documented in Netflix Docuseries: Everything to Know
The disappearance of Morgan Duncan has sparked the interest of many people, while the case was also documented in Netflix’s Missing: Dead or Alive? docuseries.
Life & Style breaks down everything to know about Duncan’s disappearance and death, below.
When Did Morgan Duncan Go Missing?
Duncan was reported missing from his home in Columbia, South Carolina, in November 2023. The dad of two was 27 years old at the time.
In the docuseries, investigators explained they grew increasingly concerned about Duncan’s disappearance because he needed his schizophrenia medication. Officials also spoke to those who knew him, who said it was “unlike” him to disappear.

How Did Morgan Duncan Die?
Richland County Sheriff’s Department officers discovered Duncan’s remains in a woodland area in December 2024.
Investigators came to believe that Duncan was killed over an argument he got into because he owed $300 for drugs. Duncan allegedly attempted to reason with drug dealer Eric Greene and promised to pay him after he got his next paycheck. However, the altercation escalated and Greene ultimately killed Duncan.
Who Was Arrested in Morgan Duncan’s Death?
Witnesses who lived in Duncan’s apartment building told investigators they saw Greene assault Duncan, and he was arrested in February 2024. Greene was convicted of killing Duncan in July 2025, and he was sentenced to serve 57 years in prison, according to local outlet WISTV.
While he was found guilty, Greene insisted during the trial that he did not kill Duncan. “I told my lawyers, I’m like, ‘I want to testify,’” he said, according to the outlet. “They told me it wouldn’t be a good idea. But now I’m glad that I get to at least speak my peace because I did not do nothing wrong.”
Julivia Waller, who is also known as “Sunshine,” and Jerome Harper, were also arrested for their alleged involvement in Duncan’s death. They were both faced with charges of accessory, which could have included assisting in hiding Duncan’s remains or helping to cover up the evidence.
Waller was found not guilty on July 23, 2025, according to WACH Fox 57. Meanwhile, Harper’s case has not yet been unresolved.
When Were Morgan Duncan’s Remains Found?
Following the arrests, Richland County Sheriff’s Department officers discovered Duncan’s partial remains in June 2024. They went on to find additional remains in a storm drain in December 2024.

After more of Duncan’s remains were found, his mother, LaTanza Duncan, spoke out about her son’s passing. “He didn’t do anything to deserve what happened to him,” LaTanza said in January 2025, per WISTV. “He didn’t do it to himself, and we have to protect those who can’t protect themselves.”
LaTanza went on to call the experience a “horrible process.” She continued, “Each day requires me to pull on something that I don’t even know that I have within myself.”
The mother went on to state that he believes Duncan’s struggles with mental health ultimately cost him his life.
“I feel like he was taken advantage of because he was a vulnerable adult,” she said. “You have people in our community that will prey upon those who they know that they can.”
