Have we time-traveled back to 2003? More than a decade after their highly publicized breakup, sources tell Life & Style that exes Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reconnected by phone and text — and are finalizing plans to secretly meet up in person!
“J.Lo asked if Ben wanted to come see her perform at her Las Vegas residency, and he said that he’d love to,” a longtime friend of the actor, who’s currently separated from wife Jennifer Garner, reveals. “Ben says there’s definitely a spark, and she’s as sharp and fun as he remembers. He’s excited about the prospect of a chapter two with J.Lo!”

The 47-year-old singer first began dating the Oscar winner in 2002 following her second divorce from dancer Cris Judd. “Bennifer” was engaged by the end of that year, and planned to marry in September 2003, but called it off due to an overwhelming amount of media attention.
“[They] have always felt that their relationship remained unfinished because it ended so abruptly and the media scrutiny was so intense,” an insider shares. Ben’s pal adds, “[His] friends think reconnecting with Jennifer is a great thing for him and could really lead to something wonderful.”
As for the 44-year-old director’s relationship with the other Jen in his life, the mother of his three children has started dating again, though her new beau’s identity remains a mystery.

“Ben moved two doors down and has to call in advance if he wants to come over,” a source previously told Life & Style. “Now that Jen is getting serious with her new man, she is ready to file for divorce and feels it’s important to put boundaries in place.”
