On Kristin Cavallari's new show, Very Cavallari, viewers will get a glimpse into her relationship with husband Jay Cutler. Although the blonde beauty confirmed that the show's focus will be on her business, Uncommon James, and the drama that goes on with her staff, the former Bears and Dolphins quarterback will appear in a handful of scenes.

"The show isn't relying on our marriage to make it a good show," Kristin told Wendy Williams in a recent interview. "It's not me airing my dirty laundry."

Though Kristin and Jay try to keep their issues as private as possible, their relationship has been rather complicated since day one. The mother-of-three revealed on the talk show that she wasn't even initially interested in Jay when he first asked her out. "I was filming The Hills, so this is 9 or 10 years ago, and I got a call from my publicist who said, 'Hey Jay Cutler wants to fly you to Chicago and take you on a date.' I didn't know who that was, so I Googled him and I was like, 'Eh, ya know, whatever.' I just didn't want a boyfriend," she explained. "So I said no … and then a year later I was visiting my mom who lives in a suburb of Chicago, going to a Bears game with my cousin. I got us family passes to meet him after the game and he walked in and I was like, 'Oh my God, he's so cute in person!' and he was so sweet. I love him, but he's not the most photogenic person on the planet. So I was a little pleasantly surprised when he walked in."

The couple dated for eight months before they got engaged, but it wasn't exactly smooth sailing from there. "We split up for three weeks," she told Wendy, adding that she gave him the ring back during their brief time apart in July 2011. Shortly after, however, the couple got back together and announced they were pregnant with their first child. "We did things a little backwards."

As for what exactly caused the split in the first place is still unknown. Kristin has spoken publicly about it and even wrote about it in her book, Balancing In Heels, but has always been very vague. "A few things needed to change, and I knew the only way Jay would see how serious I was, was if I ended the relationship," she wrote.

But despite their rocky beginning, Kristin and Jay — who are now proud parents to Camden, 5, Jaxon, 4, and Saylor, 2 — are stronger than ever today thanks to marriage counseling. “Marriage is hard work. Kristin will be the first to admit it," a source told Life & Style. "But she and Jay aren’t quitters."
