As a ragtag group of extractors, a dreamscape architect and chemist, Leo is joined by a cast of A-listers including Tom Hardy, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the Christopher Nolan-directed blockbuster.

Today, the stars of the movie, which was filmed in six countries, grossed over $800 million worldwide, and won four Academy Awards, are still some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Six years after taking on the role as a dream infiltrator, the Hollywood star finally won his Oscar for his role in The Revenant.

Next up, he is set to star in the movie adaption of The Black Hand.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur)

As Cobb's partner in crime in the action-thriller, Joseph did all his own stunts. Today, he is a father-of-one and recently starred in the bio-pic Snowden.

As the architecture student recruited to construct "dreamscapes" Ariadne is Cobb's right-hand lady.

Tom Hardy (Eames)

Tom originally described his scene-stealing character as "an old, Graham Greene-type diplomat; sort of faded, shabby, grandeur – the old Shakespeare lovey mixed with somebody from Her Majesty's Special Forces."

Next up for the British actor: Mad Max: The Wasteland and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, where he is rumored to play a stormtrooper.

Marion Cotillard (Mal)

Due to his guilt surrounding her death, Marion's character randomly appears in the dreams, making Cobb's job as an extractor difficult.

This year, the Oscar-winning actress is expecting her second child and will star in Rock 'n Roll, directed by her husband Guillaume Canet.

Cillian Murphy (Robert Fischer)

For his role in the Nolan-directed film, Cillian said he looked to the sons of Rupert Murdoch for inspiration, "to add to that the idea of living in the shadow of someone so immensely powerful."

The Irish actor is currently starring on the Netflix series Peaky Blinders and set to star in Nolan's next blockbuster Dunkirk alongside his co-star Tom Hardy.

Michael Caine (Miles)

The Hollywood icon was perfect as Miles, Cobb's father-in-law and Ariadne's college professor.

With over 150 acting credits, the British actor has three films in the works in 2017, including Going In Style alongside Morgan Freeman.

Ken Watanabe (Saito)

His role role primarily in English, and his first in a contemporary setting, Ken teamed up with director Christopher Nolan again (following Batman Begins) for the now iconic role.

Since Inception, Ken has starred in more blockbusters, including Transformers: Age of Extinction and Godzilla.

Dileep Rao (Yusuf)

Describing his role as "an avant-garde pharmacologist," Dileep brought his own brand of humor to the otherwise serious film.

He is also known for his role in Avatar.

The Hollywood veteran was perfect as Robert Fischer's godfather, who calls him Uncle Peter.

Known for his iconic roles in Platoon and Training Day, Tom is still working and has two films being released in 2017.
