Is Connor Storrie Single or Dating? Fans Want Answers About the ‘Heated Rivalry’ Star
Have you seen Heated Rivalry yet? The HBO Max series has taken the internet by storm with its steamy storyline about two hockey players locked in a forbidden romance. Fans can’t get enough of actor Connor Storrie, who plays Ilya Rozanov.
Storrie’s on-screen chemistry with co-star Hudson Williams, who portrays Shane Hollander, has left viewers wondering if the actors share a romance off-screen as well.
The Canadian show, based on Rachel Reid’s novel of the same name, follows Rozanov, a Russian-American player for the Boston Raiders, and Hollander, a Canadian-born star of the Montreal Metros. While it’s packed with bittersweet romance and sex scenes, many fans note that it stays surprisingly faithful to the novel’s steamy content.
“What I loved about [the story] and why I did ultimately think it was adaptable is because sex is the language of their love,” creator Jacob Tierney told The Hollywood Reporter. “Sex is how you tell the story because their sex changes as they get to know each other, as they get to know themselves.”
Despite the on-screen romance, neither Storrie nor Williams has publicly shared details about their sexualities. Tierney explained in Xtra Magazine that casting queer actors for queer roles isn’t something productions can legally probe.
“I don’t think there’s any reason to get into that stuff,” he said. “You can’t ask questions like that when you’re casting, right? It’s actually against the law. So what you have to gauge is somebody’s enthusiasm and willingness to do the work. And that’s what’s so impressive about both of these guys… they came into this being like, ‘Yeah, we’re here to do this, and we are here to make this story feel authentic and to be as real as possible.’ And they fucking hit it out of the park.”
The chemistry between Storrie and Williams was apparent from the start. “Hudson was the third actor that I read with,” Storrie told Out Magazine. “The first two, I was like, ‘OK, this is cool,’ and then Hudson came on. Jacob [Tierney] actually texted me directly and was like, ‘What do you think?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, Hudson, for sure.’ Instantly.”
So, who is Storrie dating? Fans hoping for an off-screen romance might be disappointed. There’s no public information about his love life, and it doesn’t appear he’s dating anyone — including his co-star, much to fans’ dismay.
