Jelly Roll is one of the busiest men in showbiz and just added another title to his résumé as an actor, joining CBS’ Fire Country as a guest star.

The singer — real name Jason DeFord — plays a healthcare worker and former convict named Noah in an episode titled “Fire and Ice” airing on April 11, 2025. He shares scenes with the show’s lead, Max Thieriot‘s Bode Leone as well as Jeff Fahey’s Walter Leone.

While Jelly Roll has appeared on TV before, including on a 2024 episode of Tulsa King, this is the first time he’s had a credited acting role and not played himself.

According to the character description, Jelly Roll’s Noah lost his mom while he was serving time in prison and “now, he works with patients like his mom, and their loved ones who struggle with saying their own goodbyes.” The “Need a Favor” singer is a former convict who served time for aggravated robbery and drug possession in his younger days.

The CMA award winner also acts along Jeff Fahey‘s Walter Leone, who is Bode’s grandfather on the show. The episode’s synopsis says Bode’s dad “Vince struggles to connect with his father,” and it appears Jelly Roll’s Noah figures into that plotline.

Jelly Roll’s Noah had a chat in a car with Billy Burke‘s Vince, who is looking to make a better connection with his dad, Walter, in the “Fire and Ice” episode.
