One month after she announced her split from her husband Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan is finally opening up. The actress reflected on the moment that she met the Hollywood hunk on the set of their film Step Up, and she also revealed how she's trying to find balance in her life now that she's separated from her husband and is now a single working mom.

"We started out as friends, and I would say it was an instant recognition, When we met it felt like we had known each other for many years," Jenna told Vegas magazine about her relationship with Chan. "Ultimately, no matter what Chan and I are doing, we’re really great friends. I think that will never change, no matter what."

Channing and Jenna announced their separation in a joint statement shared on social media, where they made it clear that there was no animosity between them and they just chose to go their separate ways. They also explained that their main focus going forward was to remain a family and to be "loving and dedicated" parents to their four-year-old daughter Everly.

But now Jenna is focusing on her career, and she'll be juggling her life as a full-time single mom with her her two jobs as the host of Jennifer Lopez's dance competition series World of Dance and as the lead in Fox's musical drama, Mixtape. She revealed that it's her training as a dancer is what helped prepare her for this new stage in her life.

"Being a dancer, you’re ingrained with this mentality to make it work, and you can do it all, but as I matured… and had a child, I’ve realized that you do the things you’re meant to do," she said. "You have to protect that and trust that even though you’re saying no to things, there are a ton of other, better yeses that will be coming."
