Jessica Simpson Looks Unrecognizable Amid Rumored Divorce From Eric Johnson: ‘Who Is This?’
Jessica Simpson looked unrecognizable in a new photo posted on social media amid her rumored divorce from Eric Johnson.
“I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul,” Jessica, 44, wrote alongside a photo posted via Instagram that showed her lounging in a chair. She wore her long blonde hair down and donned a serious expression while rocking a white dress, black boots and a black blazer.
Shortly after Jessica shared the photo, several social media users took to the comments section to state that she didn’t look like herself. “I don’t even recognize this person,” one person commented, and another chimed in, “But, who is this, even? It doesn’t even look like Jessica Simpson.”
While one person said that they thought “this was Ivanka Trump at first,” another wrote, “Woah. You don’t look like jessica.”
“That’s not even Jessica Simpson. They just stay playing in our faces, smh,” an additional person commented, and another social media user noted, “Would have never known this is Jessica Simpson.”
Jessica shared the new photo amid rumors that she and Eric, 45, have called it quits. The speculation began when Jessica didn’t wish Eric a happy birthday on social media in September. The split rumors then continued to swirl when the “A Public Affair” singer shared a cryptic post via Instagram on November 11.

“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she captioned sultry photos of herself. “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”
In October, an additional source exclusively told Life & Style that “Jessica has been reevaluating her happiness, her marriage and her business empire, and she is ready to start fresh.”
“It’s pretty much over between her and Eric; it’s only a matter of time before she files for divorce,” the source noted, adding that they have put in the effort to save their marriage.
While they have “tried couples counseling” and it “worked for a while,” the insider said that “things went back to the way they were.”
“They don’t spend nearly as much time together as they used to, and they’ve just grown apart,” the insider shared.
More recently, a source exclusively told Life & Style in November that “Jessica and Eric have been butting heads and living separate lives for an extremely long time.”
“They have a ton of unresolved issues in the marriage that have been simmering for years and now seem to be reaching a boiling point,” the insider shared.
Jessica appears to be taking the separation seriously, and a third source exclusively told Life & Style that she’s “researching her options and talking to her friends” about the situation. “It’s really not something she wants to do. Her divorce from Nick [Lachey] was beyond tough, and there were no kids involved, so she knows this will be 10 times worse,” the source added.
“Jessica has a lot of great women in her life that have circled around to be there and guide her, but Kim [Kardashian] is very much front and center. She’s really stepped up to be there as someone to talk things through with,” the insider continued. “She’s been brutally honest about how painful it was for her to separate her family, but at the end of the day she does feel divorce was the right option so she’s giving Jessica hope that if she does go down that path there can be a light at the end of the tunnel. She’s not telling her what to do either way, but she has been a sounding board for her and a shoulder to cry on.”
