Jonas Pate’s Daughter Lilah Responds to Allegations About ‘Outer Banks’ Set Incident

Two months after allegations surfaced involving Outer Banks cocreator and director Jonas Pate, his daughter, actress Lilah Pate, is publicly addressing the controversy for the first time.

On December 19, Lilah—who stars as Sophie in the Prime Video series The Runarounds, also created by her father—shared a TikTok video from Jonas’ final days on set of Outer Banks season 5. The clip appeared celebratory, with Lilah captioning it, “The face of a dude who just wrapped OBX. Champion.”

However, the comments quickly turned serious. When one user asked, “Did he yell at you like he did the employees after this queen?” Lilah responded directly, writing, “Don’t believe everything you see online.” The brief reply marked the first public defense of her father from a member of his family.

Back in October, TMZ reported that Jonas allegedly “put his hands on a production assistant and shook her while shouting in her face.” According to the outlet, Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline reportedly “jumped in to de-escalate the situation.” Sources told TMZ that tensions on set were high and suggested the incident was not entirely out of character, with one insider claiming, “It’s about time that it’s made public.”

A separate source spoke to People, echoing the seriousness of the claims while offering additional context. The insider alleged Jonas “was screaming at the female production assistant and grabbed her by her shoulders and shook her. He didn’t hurt her or try to hurt her. He just crossed a line. Putting your hands on someone is never, ever okay.”

Neither Jonas nor Netflix has publicly commented on the allegations.

Jonas cocreated Outer Banks alongside his twin brother, Josh Pate, and writer Shannon Burke. Since its Netflix debut in April 2020, the hit series has become a pop culture staple—and no stranger to offscreen headlines. From Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline’s real-life breakup to persistent rumors of cast tension, the show’s success has often been paired with scrutiny.

Most recently, speculation swirled around season four, with fans claiming Madison Bailey and Rudy Pankow—whose characters were romantically involved—used body doubles for intimate scenes due to an alleged feud. Madison seemingly shut down the rumors herself, posting a photo with Rudy, Chase, and Jonathan Daviss captioned simply, “P4L.”
