Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen Reveals the Sweet Pregame Tradition He Shares With Wife Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee Steinfeld has supported her husband, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, by quietly attending home games since the couple began dating. But in addition to Steinfeld cheering on her man, Allen recently revealed the special pregame date night tradition the newlyweds share together.
“When I’m staying in Buffalo, typically, me and my wife have a little routine of eating at little Italian spot called Mangia,” Allen told Heavy Sports. “So we keep it pretty similar, keep it pretty much the same here.”
But despite their fame, Steinfeld and Allen manage to stay under the radar for their date nights. “We have our places that we frequent and have a good relationship with some of the restaurant owners and staff and are able to find ways to be put in the back or into a little room,” he continued.
The couple, who were first spotted together in May 2023, made their relationship “Instagram official” in July 2024. After more than two years of dating, they tied the knot in California during the NFL offseason on May 31, 2025.
Though Steinfeld has become known for her throwback game day fits, she’s rarely seen in the stands at Highmark Stadium, doing her best to maintain that same low profile they crave while enjoying date nights together.
Apart from carb-loading with Steinfeld, the 2024 NFL MVP also revealed some insight into his diet during the NFL season. When he’s on the road, the 29-year-old says that it can vary. “It’s a rotating thing,” Allen explained. “I think based on where we play, you know, whether it’s like Door-dashing or Insta-carting or getting food from a local spot … It’s pasta, or some fried rice and chicken, that’s probably my go-to.”
Allen also has another Friday night dinner pregame tradition with his backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky and the practice squad quarterback Shane Buechele. During away games, they meet up the day before they have to travel.
“Honestly, it’s one of my favorite things,” Allen added. “I started doing them a few years ago, and it’s something to look forward to at the end of the week. You get to go hang out and break bread together. We get to ask each other questions and continue to learn more about each other.”
The Bills season opener kicked off on Sunday night, defeating the Baltimore Ravens in a narrow 41–40 win. As Allen heads into his eighth NFL season with a $330 million contract, he’s hoping to help the Bills secure their first-ever Super Bowl championship.
