Kanye West’s Breakdown Coincided With the Anniversary of His Mother’s Death
It’s been a rough month for Kanye West.
After canceling the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour, the 39-year-old was hospitalized on Nov. 21 — and it’s no coincidence that his breakdown happened just days after the nine-year anniversary of his mother’s death.

To make matters worse, a source tells Life & Style that the rapper hasn’t been taking his prescription anti-anxiety and antidepression medication regularly.

“That’s not a good idea, especially for someone with his temperament,” the source shares. “Kanye’s friends had been concerned about his behavior for over a month and had urged him to slow down and go to rehab. But he wouldn’t listen.”
And wife Kim Kardashian is at a loss over what steps to take next. “[She’s] scared to death because she doesn’t know what to do,” a different insider says. “He has never been this bad.”
