Kendall Jenner reflected on her struggle with acne and it’s actually heartbreaking. News of her partnership with Proactiv broke on January 6 after days of hyping up the “moving” story she was going to tell. When the model revealed it was about her problematic skin, the internet wasn’t impressed. However, she’s since confessed even more about those painful years that made her so self-conscious. The crippling effect her poor skin had on her life sounds like it really sucked. When we have a giant zit, we hide at home while the social media influencer had to walk red carpets. Eek.
“While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating,” the 23-year-old said in an Instagram post. “It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure. As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being ‘perfect’ is the standard.”
The brunette beauty even posted a 10-year challenge photo on her Instagram Story where she admitted that she “ran home crying every day” because of people looking at her imperfections.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star then declared that she wants to start being more relatable by showing off imperfections. “We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I’d like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect,” she continued in the post.

She further explained the end goal of her Proactiv gig. “It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now. I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity.”
We love the honesty and realness, Kenny!
