Kris Jenner Just Revealed That She Was Once so Poor She Couldn’t Even Afford a Tomato

This is hard to imagine. Nowadays, momager Kris Jenner is basically running a KarJenner empire, but once upon a time, she was so poor she couldn't even afford to buy a tomato at the grocery store. The mom-of-six opened up in a recent interview about cheating on her then-husband Robert Kardashian Sr. and the financial difficulties she faced following their difficult divorce.

Kris and Robert married in 1978, but after she cheated on him with soccer player Todd Waterman, he filed for divorce in 1991. The attorney and businessman promptly cut off her credit cards following their split, leaving Kris completely broke.

"I didn’t have anything," she explained during an interview for Fox News Channel’s OBJECTified. "I went to the market one day and my credit card didn’t work. I had a market credit card and I’m like, 'I can’t even buy a tomato.'"

Kris, who previously acknowledged her infidelity in her 2011 memoir Kris Jenner… And All Things Kardashian, explained that she majorly regretted cheating on Robert. "Which wasn’t — nothing I’m proud of. When I look back on it now, probably one of my biggest regrets in my life is that that marriage fell apart," she said during the interview with OBJECTified.

She and Robert shared daughters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé, and son Rob. Best known for serving as O.J. Simpson's defense attorney during his 1995 murder trial, Robert passed away from esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59.
