The Valley’s Kristen Doute Says She’ll ‘Absolutely’ Try Weight Loss Drugs After Giving Birth
The Valley star Kristen Doute discussed how she would like to lose weight after she gives birth to her and Luke Broderick’s first child, and she’s not ruling out the use of weight loss drugs.
“I hope I develop [an eating disorder] after giving birth,” Kristen, 42, joked with host Jackie Schimmel during the Tuesday, April 22, episode of the “Bitch Bible” podcast. “If Ozempic doesn’t work, then eating disorder, bring it on.”
Jackie, 30, asked if Kristen was going to “inject,” referring to weight loss injections and the former Vanderpump Rules star said “absolutely.”
Kristen continued, “I’ve tried it. It didn’t go well for me, but that was Ozempic, so I’m going to try something different. Mounjaro, perhaps? Something. If that doesn’t work, I’ll try the next one.”
The soon-to-be mom of one previously spoke to Life & Style about her experience with weight loss injections in May 2024, but the side effects were too much for her to handle.
“I did try one of the pens, the medicine that you inject yourself with, I tried that for three weeks and I was so insanely sick that I couldn’t do it anymore,” Kristen said at the time. “And I’m like, ‘What am I doing? What am I doing? This is insane. I’m flip-flopping all over the place.’ So, I just wanted something that was going to make me feel confident.”
She added, “I used to do the fad diets when I was in my 20s when it was really big, like the master cleanse or the this or the that. And all it did was make me gain it right back two seconds later.”

Because Kristen is pregnant with baby No. 1, her weight loss journey has been put on pause. Fans of The Valley saw the James Mae founder and Luke, 30, discuss expanding their family in season 1, and in November 2024, Kristen revealed that a baby was on the way.
“After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024,” Kristen told People in an article published on November 26, 2024.”I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.”
She explained that she and Luke met with a fertility specialist to “learn about their options” and the “next steps” that they would need to take if they decided to “go that route.”
“The next month was a whirlwind — getting educated on fertility, and eventually hormone shots and preparing my body for IUI (intrauterine insemination),” Kristen told the publication. “The two weeks following the IUI procedure felt like years. To get a correct outcome on a pregnancy test, two weeks time had to pass and I had to wait it out but in my heart I knew it had worked. I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me.”
In December 2024, Kristen announced that she and Luke would be welcoming a baby girl in June.
“Luke and I are so thrilled to be having a little girl, which honestly was unexpected because I was convinced we were having a boy!” she told People at the time. “We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives together and to soon welcome our baby girl next summer.”
