One week after his unexpected split from Ariana Grande, Mac Miller was reportedly arrested for DUI and fleeing the scene of the accident. The “Dang!” rapper was driving his 2016 G-Wagon around 1 a.m. Thursday morning when he hit a power pole, causing it to fall over.

According to TMZ, Mac (real name: Malcolm McCormick) fled the scene with his two passengers on foot. Eyewitnesses called the police, who ran the cars’ plates and proceeded to go to Mac’s address. Once there, he allegedly confessed to drinking and driving — and was charged with a DUI and hit-and-run. However, according to one law enforcement source, “He was the most polite and nice intoxicated person we’ve ever seen.” That’s good to know…

The hip-hop star is currently behind bars and his bail is set at $15,000. This arrest comes just a few days after Mac and Ariana announced their split. The former couple insists they are still the best of friends, but Ariana hinted the breakup was not her idea on social media.

“I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us,” she wrote at the time. “Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment it’s not you. I can’t wait to know and support you forever and I’m so proud of you.”

The pair started dating in 2016, three years after they collaborated on their hit single “The Way.” Shortly after going official, Mac gushed about his “dream woman” in a radio interview. “Just because we are two people who are in love and have a great relationship doesn’t mean that I’m gonna get weird about this incredible music that we also make together,” Mac told the Breakfast Club. “All I’m saying is, ‘Yeah we’re together, cool.”

He was also by Ariana’s side following the tragic Manchester bombing at her concert last May. Unfortunately, Mac and Ariana recently unfollowed each other on social media.
