Man Sought by Police Following Deadly Stabbing in Brooklyn Home

Police are actively searching for a man connected to a violent stabbing that left his father-in-law dead and his mother-in-law in critical condition.

Officials report that emergency services were called to a home on East 69th Street in the Bergen Beach area shortly after 7:30 p.m on Thursday, December 11, according to ABC 7.

When they arrived, both victims had sustained multiple stab wounds and were rushed to Brookdale University Hospital. Juan Manuel Galicia, 49, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while his wife, also 49, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

As ABC 7 reports, investigators said the suspect reached out to a family member soon after the attack, telling them, “I’ve taken care of your parents.” That family member then contacted another relative, who called 911.

Neighbors told Eyewitness News they were shocked by the incident. “I’m shocked because this is usually a quiet, safe neighborhood,” one resident said, admitting they didn’t know much about the couple.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the Brooklyn Police Department immediately.

Authorities describe the suspect as a man in his early 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was reportedly last seen wearing a white hoodie and blue pants and is believed to have fled the scene in a blue Toyota SUV. He remains at large.

So far, no updates have been released regarding his wife, who remains in critical condition.
