All Mariah Carey wants is, well, everything! The 49-year-old superstar recently announced the dates for her upcoming Caution World Tour — with a never-ending list of demands to go along with it, Life & Style magazine has exclusively learned.
“Mariah doesn’t have a problem admitting she likes to be treated like royalty,” a source close to the diva claimed. “And if she isn’t happy with something, everyone knows about it!”
In addition to insisting that no one speak to her before a performance in order to preserve her voice or play any of her rivals’ music backstage, the “We Belong Together” singer also got a little carried away with her accommodations. “Special furniture has to be ordered, bottles of champagne chilled at just the right temperature,” sighed the insider, “and flowers, costing around $10,000, waiting in her hotel suite.” At least she’s a woman with taste, right?
As it happens, this is hardly the first time that Mariah’s larger-than-life behavior and reputation have rubbed people the wrong way. On Oct. 26, news broke that she would be joining Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice as an advisor. While fans of the hit series were seemingly pleased, coaches Jennifer Hudson, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Levine were reportedly not!
“No one wanted her to join the show. They privately voiced their opinions and they were all overturned by NBC,” an insider told Radar Online at the time. The insider continued, “It was unanimous that the coaches didn’t want her and now they feel their voices don’t matter. They think it won’t be good for the show and they don’t want the drama and stress she brings to shows she’s on.”
Once again, though, Mariah is going to do what Mariah wants to do! “[She] wants to be more full time as a coach so she’s trying to make a name for herself on the show. This gig can allow her a chance to be a coach next season,” the insider concluded.
