Here’s Everything We Know About Meghan King Edmonds’ Husband Jim’s Cheating Scandal
You may have been seeing Meghan King Edmonds‘ name pop up more than usual, and that’s because unfortunately her husband, Jim Edmonds, was recently involved in a cheating scandal.
In early June, allegations were made that the former MLB player, 48, sent another woman, who is now identified as Jennifer McFelia Villegas, inappropriate text messages in 2018, while his wife was pregnant with their twin sons. Shortly after the accusations, Jim came clean and addressed the issue. “Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person,” Jim told Us Weekly on June 13. “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past.”
“Clearly, I made a very poor decision to expose myself and my family to this type of person. For this, I am truly sorry and sought forgiveness from my wife,” he continued. “I’m outraged over the intent to ruin my family and intend to take legal action. We were never having any problems in our marriage. My attorney is in possession of documents wherein this person has admitted fabricating large portions of her ‘story.'”
Jim claimed he “never had any sort of a physical relationship outside of my marriage with her or anyone else,” however, that didn’t seem to be enough for the Real Housewives of Orange County alum, who was disappointed by her husband’s behavior. After Jennifer became identified as the other woman involved, Meghan expressed where she stands in the situation.
“I only blame my husband for his actions: he made the choice to betray my trust and jeopardize our marriage,” the former Bravo star told the outlet. “His recklessness also allowed this woman to profit from my heartbreak — but now that her name is out there, she won’t be able to shake down any other families as I rebuild mine.”
At this point, the couple, who has been married for nearly five years and share three kids together, is putting their issues aside for the sake of their children. Just a week after Jim addressed the cheating scandal, their son Hart was hospitalized and both he and Meghan rushed to the hospital to make sure he is OK. On the bright side, at least they’re handling their situation in a mature manner.
