Hands-on! Meghan Markle may be a royal but she still enjoys doing common things, including cooking. The 37-year-old and her husband, Prince Harry, bond over this activity, especially since Meg has even taught the duke, 34, how to whip up some dishes.

“Harry and Meghan do have access to a royal chef, who they use from time to time but he doesn’t live at Frogmore and only works when they’re too busy to cook themselves,” a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style. “Harry wasn’t a great cook when he met Meghan, but she’s teaching him all the ropes. Whole Foods is Meghan’s favorite food store and she’ll often shop online.”

For the most part, Meghan and Harry eat healthy and like to indulge from time to time. “Meghan’s a fantastic cook and lives on a very strict plant-based diet, although she does have cheat days,” the insider added.

The couple also likes to keep it simple — they like to grow their own fruits and veggies. “Meghan only eats organic food and she and Harry have even built their own vegetable garden at Frogmore. Harry’s picked up gardening up tips from his dad, [Prince] Charles.”

When they’re not at home being a regular family, they’re most likely attending royal engagements. On June 27, Meghan and Harry’s official Instagram account, Royal Sussex, announced that Harry and Meghan are embarking on their first royal tour since their son, Archie, was born.

“TRH The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited to announce that they have been asked to carry out a tour to Southern Africa this autumn,” read the beginning of the post’s caption, before revealing what countries they plan to visit. “The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have requested a visit to South Africa as well as The Duke carrying out visits to Malawi and Angola. His Royal Highness will also do a short working visit to Botswana on route to the other countries.”
