Meghan Markle’s Friends Are Planning Her Engagement Party and the Theme Is Completely Perfect (EXCLUSIVE)
A royal wedding is always an over-the-top, super extravagant affair, but that doesn’t mean the engagement party has to be! Meghan Markle‘s closest friends are thrilled by the idea of their bestie tying the knot with Prince Harry, 33, and they’re already planning the perfect engagement celebration for the soon-to-be Duchess.
“Meghan’s school friends are organizing an English tea party for her in LA once she announces her engagement to Harry,” an insider told Life & Style exclusively. “It will be an exclusive soiree, with just five or six of her closest friends invited.” Who doesn’t love a themed party? The pals are going all out and plan to serve English tea, cucumber sandwiches, scones, and the 36-year-old’s favorite treat, lemon tarts.
Six friends may sound like a super understated bash for one of the most highly-anticipated weddings ever, but the Suits star wouldn’t have it any other way. “Meghan loves the idea of a sophisticated English tea party,” said the source. “She isn’t the kind of girl who wants a crazy Las Vegas-style affair. [She] is still as down-to-earth now as she was growing up.” We’re willing to bet that her pal Priyanka Chopra will be one of the lucky invitees, especially since Life & Style learned that she’ll probably be Meghan’s maid of honor!

It might still be a while before the friends can actually set the plan in motion, since Meghan and Harry decided to push back their happy announcement so as not to take away from Kate Middleton and Prince William’s exciting baby news. It can’t come soon enough, if you ask us.
