What goes on in the Met Gala bathroom, stays in the Met Gala bathroom — and also goes on social media! The Met Gala is one of the most prestigious fashion events of the year, which is why it seems almost cruel that there is a strict no-selfie policy put in place. How else will celebrities get to show off their glam for their Instagram followers? But luckily, celebs aren’t exactly known to play by the rules, and the during the Met Gala 2017, Kylie Jenner was the one who broke the no-selfie policy by taking an epic, star-studded mirror photo in the Met Gala bathroom.

“Annual bathroom selfie,” Kylie wrote in the caption of the post, which garnered more than three million likes on Instagram. In the pic, fans could spot her big sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, plus rapper A$AP Rocky, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Paris Jackson, Frank Ocean, and Brie Larson.

Kylie isn’t the only person who has broken the no-selfie rule since it was implemented in 2015. Though it’s not exactly clear why, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour banned social media from the event, according to the New York Times. Since it’s banned, celebs find themselves sneaking into the bathroom to take their photos and share them on social media.

But that’s not all that goes on in the Met Gala bathroom! According to a photo posted by Paris Jackson on her Instagram story last year, celebs who are smokers also sneak away to the bathroom for a quick cigarette during the evening — which clearly breaks NYC’s law that prohibits smoking indoors, and the health commissioner was definitely not impressed.

“This spectacular event awes us all,” said Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Mary T. Bassett in a letter to the museum’s senior vice president to Women’s Wear Daily. “We were dismayed to read reports that some celebrities chose smoking as their fashion accessory and flagrantly violated New York City’s smoking laws.” Here’s hoping these celebs will be a little more respectful this year.
