She’s hittin’ 26 like a wrecking ball! On Nov. 23, singer Miley Cyrus celebrated her 26th birthday surrounded by friends and family. Despite the fact that the recent Los Angeles-area fires got the best of her home, Miley was all smiles in the sweet Instagram moments captured by her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, and brother, Trace Cyrus, while her closest crew got together for cake to celebrate. Her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, was also there to ring in the big 2-6 with her.
In her dad Billy’s post, the caption gave us a lot of insight to how the Cyrus family has been coping with the aftermath of the Los Angeles fires, even in the face of such a joyous day. “Thankful for this moment. My thoughts and prayers with so many hearts that need [mending]. Peace and love to all,” he shared with the sweet photo on Instagram. Miley looks thrilled to be surrounded by all the most important people in her life, like her mom, Tish, her brother, Trace, and her sister, Noah.
The few weeks leading up to Miley’s birthday have been a difficult time for her, as the Los Angeles fires caused her and her fiancé Liam to lose their home. During the fires, Miley was active on Twitter with updates about her property and feelings on the situation. “Completely devastated by the fires affecting my community,” she tweeted at the time of the devastation. “I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now.”

Liam also took to social media to share his feelings about what happened during the fires. “It’s been a heartbreaking few days,” Liam wrote, sharing a photo of the remains of his and Miley’s house on Twitter. “This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires.”

The couple generously donated $500,000 to the Malibu Foundation, which provides emergency assistance and community rebuilding, through Miley’s personal charity, Happy Hippie.
