Did Millie Bobby Brown Just Shut Down David Harbour Drama? Inside Their ‘Stranger Things’ Red Carpet Moment
Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour put on a united front at the Stranger Things season 5 premiere — just days after rumors of on-set tension surfaced.
The duo, who play Eleven and her adoptive father Jim Hopper in the hit Netflix series, arrived together at the Los Angeles event, laughing, hugging, and posing arm-in-arm for photos. Netflix even shared the sweet moment on social media with the caption, “David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown arrive together for one last Stranger Things premiere 🥹.”
Their warm red carpet reunion comes shortly after The Daily Mail published a November 1 report alleging that Brown, 21, had filed a harassment and bullying claim against Harbour, 50, before filming began on the show’s fifth and final season. The outlet cited “pages and pages of accusations” and claimed an internal investigation took place for months.
Neither Brown nor Harbour has publicly addressed the allegations, but their affectionate appearance at the premiere seemed to speak volumes.
When asked about the reported claims, Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter that while he couldn’t discuss “personal on-set matters,” he emphasized the importance of a safe and supportive environment.
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them,” Ross said. “Nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
Executive producer and director Shawn Levy echoed that sentiment, noting that the show’s leadership takes workplace culture seriously.
“At the end of the day, that’s the job,” Levy told THR. “You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
He continued, “I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock.”
Brown, who married Jake Bongiovi earlier this year, reportedly had a representative present with her during filming for season 5.
Harbour and Brown’s relationship dates back to 2015, when the first season of Stranger Things began filming in Atlanta. At the time, Brown was just 11 years old. Harbour previously reflected on their close bond during an interview on That Scene with Dan Patrick in 2016. “Millie and I have always had sort of a special relationship because I knew her when she was so young,” he shared. “I knew her before any of this big fame hit.”
