Is there anything sweeter than young Hollywood love? We don’t think so! Speaking with Variety, Nicole Kidman opened up about her 11-year marriage to fellow A-lister and ex-husband Tom Cruise.

She admitted that the Mission Impossible actor was responsible for some very monumental moments in her life including her permanent move from Australia to the US. “I moved here because I fell in love and got married,” the Big Little Lies star said. “I always make choices for love and everything kind of had to fall in place around that.”

Of course, this is hardly the first time Nicole has spoken on her relationship with Tom since it ended. In fact, earlier this year, the 51-year-old mused to New York Magazine what her marriage meant from both an industry and career perspective.

I got married very young, but it definitely wasn’t power for me — it was protection,” she explained. “I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man kept me from being sexually harassed. I would work, but I was still very much cocooned,” Nicole continued. “So when I came out of [the marriage] at 32, 33, it’s almost like I had to grow up.”

Unfortunately, at the time, Nicole’s reflections were not entirely well-received. However, she did go on to offer more insight a few weeks later. “Because I was married at 23 years old, I wasn’t going to parties or I wasn’t going out a lot. I was pretty much at home,” the actress clarified on Today. “I had my first child at 25 and I was married, I was in a family. So my sense of being in the world was… I was working or I was at home.”

While Tom ended up later divorcing his third wife, Katie Holmes, Nicole is still happily married to singer-songwriter Keith Urban. The pair shares two children — Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 7.
