Does Odessa A’zion Wear Wigs? The ‘Marty Supreme’ Actress Sets the Record Straight on the Hair Allegations

Odessa A’zion is setting the record straight — and it’s all about her hair.

The 25-year-old actress has become the internet’s latest obsession following the premieres of I Love LA and Marty Supreme. Fans have been particularly fixated on her thick, glossy, jet-black corkscrew curls, sparking viral debates: Are they real, or is she wearing a wig?

Odessa addressed the rumors at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday. Speaking with Deadline, she finally weighed in on the hair chatter. “I’ve been told about that. There’s a whole debate, ‘Is it a wig? Is it not?’ I guess we’ll never know. No…I’m kidding,” she said with a laugh.

“The gag is,” she continued, “the LA premiere [of Marty Supreme] was a wig, and [for] the New York premiere, it took me five hours to do my hair, and everyone thinks it’s a wig.”

Odessa added a reality check about her beauty routine: “You think I can afford a wig like that and wear it all the time? Those are so expensive. I’ve heard wigs can go up to like twenty-, or thirty-thousand dollars. Are you f***ing kidding me? I don’t even have a hair, makeup, or stylist because I’m trying to save my money. Maybe one day.”

Fans who followed Odessa’s red carpet appearances may have noticed the differences. When she actually did wear a wig, it was styled differently — looser, sleek curls swept to the side, shorter at her clavicles, and perfectly suited to the ‘50s aesthetic of Marty Supreme. She paired it with a sharp Marc Jacobs suit, no shirt underneath, channeling classic Hollywood vibes.

In the film, Odessa plays Rachel Mizler, the love interest of Marty Mauser (played by Timothée Chalamet), a character inspired by a real-life Jewish-American table tennis pioneer. The movie also stars Gwyneth Paltrow; Kevin O’Leary; Tyler Okonma; Tyler, the Creator; Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.
