Why Bachelor’s Rachael Kirkconnell ‘Wasn’t Ready for’ Matt James’ Public Announcement of Their Split
One day, Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell were making a “pizza pit stop” in London. The next, the Bachelor alum, 33, was announcing their breakup on Instagram. “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts,” he captioned a photo of the pair meeting for the very first time on the dating competition show. “Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding.”
Bachelor Nation was shocked. Apparently, so was Rachael, 28. The reality star liked a fan’s comment, speculating that Matt had “completely blindsided” her with the January 16 announcement. “His communication skills need some fine-tuning,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “Matt should’ve checked with Rachael before posting anything online. She wasn’t ready for it.”
