What Robert Irwin Whispered to Xochitl Gomez at the ‘DWTS’ Finale, According to Fans

Robert Irwin and Xochitl Gomez are keeping fans very entertained — and not just on the dance floor.

After the Dancing With the Stars season 34 finale (where Robert took home the mirrorball), viewers caught the pair sharing a sweet hug onstage, and now the internet is convinced they’ve cracked exactly what Robert whispered in Xochitl’s ear.

The moment went viral after People posted a clip from the live show. In it, Xochitl — who won season 32 with Val Chmerkovskiy — congratulates Robert on his Mirrorball victory before he leans in to say something. Fans swear they heard, “See you soon,” and immediately flooded the comments with heart-eye emojis and theories.

Xochitl wasn’t just cheering from the audience, either. She spent the entire night supporting the 21-year-old wildlife star, from backstage rehearsals to side-stage prep talks. Hours before showtime, she even surprised him outside his trailer with a big smile and an even bigger bouquet of flowers, according to photos shared by TMZ.

It’s no secret the pair formed a strong bond this season. Xochitl joined Robert for the show’s 20th anniversary special in November, where they were paired for a relay dance to “Dance With Me Tonight.” After their jive, Derek Hough commented on their chemistry, while Robert’s partner Witney Carson gave a knowing look that sent shippers into overdrive.

Witney later revealed her DMs had turned into Robert Irwin matchmaking central. “Girls, I love ya, thank you for the applications through somehow my email and flooding the DMs,” she joked on Instagram. “If I could line you all up with Robert, I would because you’re all 10/10 perfect cuties.”

Robert handled the attention like a champ. Earlier this season, he told People he’s still waiting for a love story as iconic as the ones in his own family.

“My mom and dad met when she was this American tourist coming over to Australia, and that’s also how my sister met her husband,” he said. “I’ve been saying, when is that going to happen for me?! I’m still waiting for it. That American tourist is not quite lined up.”

But dating under the spotlight has definitely been an adjustment.

“Holy moly, that’s so challenging to navigate,” he told The New York Times on November 23, especially when “anything you do will be on TikTok the next day.”
