Ryan Reynolds Put Work on Pause to Spend Time With Wife Blake Lively and Their Newborn Baby

Family time! Ryan Reynolds may be a hardworking actor, but when it comes to his kids, he doesn’t mind taking some time off from work. The 42-year-old and his wife, Blake Lively, reportedly welcomed their third child together recently, which prompted Ryan to put everything on pause to be with them.

“Ryan left the set he was working [on] for about eight days,” a source told Us Weekly, referring to the time Blake gave birth. While neither the Gossip Girl alum, 32 nor the Deadpool star have confirmed anything regarding baby No. 3’s arrival, another source told the outlet that their bundle of joy was born during the summer, making the baby currently about “2 months old.”

It doesn’t come as a surprise that the power couple have stayed tight-lipped about the situation, especially because they’re known to keep their kids’ lives private “to make sure [the kids] have a normal upbringing,” a second insider added.

Blake, who also shares her oldest kids — Inez and James — with Ryan, wants her children’s childhood to be like the one she and her hubby had. “Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had,” she admitted in a 2016 interview with Marie Claire. “We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had because then we’d feel really selfish.”

While we can’t help but wonder their newborn’s gender, a source exclusively told Life & Style in May that Ryan was rooting for a boy. “They already have two daughters James, 4, and 2-year-old Inez, and while they’re just hoping for a healthy child, they’re secretly wanting a boy,” the insider confessed. “Ryan says he’s outnumbered at home, he’s trying to even the playing field, so a son would be great.”

Regardless of whether the baby is a girl or boy, we’re sure the family of five is overjoyed with their newest addition — the more, the merrier. “Blake comes from a big family, five kids, and Ryan’s parents had four, so she loves the idea of having a lot of children,” the insider added. “Ryan, who didn’t grow up with any sisters, says he already knows a boy is coming, he says he can feel it.”
