Shaquille O’Neal’s Custom $180K Range Rover Stolen in Georgia, Investigation Ongoing

Law enforcement is on the hunt for a $180,000 Range Rover that was customized for NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and was stolen in Georgia earlier in October.

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office in northeast Georgia said investigators believe the car was taken from a local fabrication business and was brought to the Atlanta area last week, according to CBS News Atlanta.

The car was intended to be transported to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for O’Neal, 53, to use while he was in town for a Louisiana State University game. However, the SUV never arrived.

Investigators have set out to find the thief and have identified multiple potential suspects, as well as obtained search warrants.

The car was being customized at California-based shop Effortless Motors before it was stolen. Effortless Motors spokesperson Ahmad Abdelrahman told CBS News Atlanta that the company arranged for the car to be transported through FirstLine Trucking LLC, which alleged it was hacked.

“We do all his cars. This time, we set up transport, and transport claimed they were hacked and don’t know who picked up the vehicle,” Abdelrahman said. “It’s been missing since Monday.”

It’s believed the Range Rover was passed through several hands before it went missing in Atlanta, with police believing the car was stolen between October 20 and October 22. Abdelrahman added multiple shops were involved in its transport, while police are currently investigating how the SUV was handed off from company to company.

“They claimed they were hacked and have no idea who picked up the car or where it’s at,” Abdelrahman said of FirstLine Trucking LLC. “There are a couple suspects in mind, and they’re doing their thing, but apparently they’re still investigating.”

Effortless Motors and O’Neal are working closely with law enforcement amid the investigation, according to Abdelrahman. Additionally, Effortless Motors has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that may help find the vehicle.

Abdelrahman also shared that Effortless Motors has never dealt with a car being stolen.

“We take the security and trust of our clients very seriously,” he said. “This was a highly coordinated criminal act targeting the transport company’s network. Police are saying this may be a part of a big operation ring that’s been happening … We’re waiting for some updates.”

The missing SUV has undergone several customizations over the years, including a fully redone interior with extended seating to fit O’Neal’s large frame.

The NBA star has been a loyal client to Effortless Motors since 2023 and has worked with the company to customize his Corvette Z06, TRX 1500 Apocalypse, 2025 Chevy 2500 ZR2 and his Escalade IQ.
