When it comes to working on her post-baby body, Shay Mitchell doesn’t feel any pressure. “I baked the best thing ever and I’m happy with what I was able to do!” the former Pretty Little Liars actress exclusively tells Life & Style. “I feel stronger and better than I did before.”

Shay, who welcomed her daughter, Atlas, with partner Matte Babel in October 2019, hopes to change the conversation surrounding new moms and fitness. “I don’t really call it a ‘snap back,’ I call it a ‘snap forward,’ and you know, that’s my body and what it’s been able to do,” says the You alum while promoting The Safeguard initiative, which launched on June 22. “It’s been incredible and I think all mothers should look at it that way.”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Canadian-born starlet is improvising with at-home routines. “I actually moved my treadmill from my garage into my living room so it’s been kind of funny. I can watch my favorite shows and get a workout in!” Shay explains, and adds Atlas’ naptime is her hour of “getting some fitness in.”

Shay doesn’t “really” have any specific goals for her post-baby body. “I just take each day as it comes,” the Bliss author explains. “Some days it may be a good 20-minute walk on an incline and some days it’s a non-workout day, so it’s going to be the latter today.”

While Shay is undoubtedly thriving as a new mom, she and Matte are “definitely not discussing” having another child. “I’m loving having the three of us for a minute and you know, Atlas is growing so quickly, but at the same time, it’s so nice just having all the attention on her right now,” the Dollface star expresses.

Shay and Matte began dating in 2017 but aren’t interested in tying the knot. “Whatever we’re doing is working right now,” she muses. “I feel like, yeah, I’m a big fan of other people’s weddings and I have a bunch of friends whose weddings are now obviously postponed to next year that I’ll be excited to go to when that time happens. But nothing in the future for us planned.”

We wish Shay, Matte and baby Atlas all the best!
