Her A-list pals are here for her. Taylor Swift, Rita Ora and more rallied to support Bebe Rexha after she publicly clapped back at a music executive who said she is “too old to be sexy.” The singer recounted the troubling story on Instagram on August 12 and was met with praise from fans and other celebrities, some have even experienced the same things.

“Drag them. 29-year-olds unite,” Taylor cheered in the comments. Rita chimed in and wrote, “My sexy songwriting [queen]. You are beautiful, getting sexier with age and your talent SINGS for itself. Keep making those rules.” Songstress Natasha Bedingfield was sadly very familiar with this situation and commented, “I know this story and this kind of ‘advice’ is so bulls—t. I love you!”

Model Leomie Anderson added, “Thank you for not allowing these dickheads to make you shrink yourself to fit into their idea of what a woman in the music industry should be. You’re bad bitch Bebe and no I didn’t stutter.” Jamie Lynn Spears encouraged the songstress by writing, “Hell Yeah. Fn right.”

The “I’m a Mess” artist took to social media to call out the unnamed male exec who apparently told her that she is “getting too old and that my brand was ‘confusing.'” She continued her lengthy post, “I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are [supposed] to do, especially for my age.”

I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was “confusing.” Because… I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age. I’m 29. I’m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules. I’m tired of women getting labeled as “hags” when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age. Anyways, I’m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I’m not running away from it. I’m not gonna lie about my age or sing songs that I feel will sell better because they sound “younger.” I’m gonna celebrate my age because you know what, I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago.

Bebe paired her powerful words with a black-and-white snapshot of herself in her skivvies. “I’m 29. I’m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules. I’m tired of women getting labeled as ‘hags’ when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age,” she confessed.

The starlet closed out her powerful post by adding, “I’m gonna celebrate my age because you know what, I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago.”

Tell ’em, girl!
