You can rest easy, Teen Mom fans, because OG has reportedly been renewed for an eighth season! Between a rough drop in ratings, long and uncomfortable negotiations, and some cast members claiming to quit the show, the future of the MTV staple seemed uncertain. “Everyone has finally signed their contracts, and things are up and running,” a source told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on January 18.

But It Took A Lot To Get There

Amber Portwood allegedly posed the biggest issue while trying to decide to return or not. “Amber was the last to sign her contract,” said the report. “She actually didn’t sign on officially until last week. She was really the only one who was holding out.”

Changing Her Mind

The back-and-forth was all because Amber very publicly announced she was quitting the show in November 2018. “I can’t do this anymore, I have to quit this show,” she tweeted. “I don’t feel like this is right for my life anymore.” Luckily, it sounds like she changed her mind!

As for her baby daddy, Andrew Glennon? “He’ll be back next season too!”

What About The Newbies?

Bristol Palin, Cheyenne Floyd, and baby daddy Cory Wharton were new to the show on season 7, and former star Farrah Abraham has consistently shaded them and blamed the newbies for the drop in ratings.

Raising Some Concerns

Fans were worried Bristol may not come back after she complained about how the show portrayed her on social media. “No matter how bad @teenmom tries to portray my ‘life’… my babies, my family, my close friends, they know the TRUTH,” she wrote.

Luckily, Bristol since changed her tune and she’s reportedly signed on for season 8. “Bristol actually had a shoot schedule this past weekend,” said the source. “As far as I have heard, she didn’t give anyone any trouble and signed on pretty quickly.”

Cheyenne and Cory have only gotten closer as the show progresses, and it sounds like they’re both going to appear on the new season as well.
