Mark Exposes Himself (Season 1, Episode 1)

The White Lotus is no stranger to showing full frontal male nudity and Steve Zahn‘s Mark Mossbacher got to be the first – at least with a prosthetic and a body double.

In the premiere episode of the show, Mark is fearful that he may have cancer due to his comically enlarged testicles. He exposes himself to his wife, Nicole Mossbacher (Connie Britton), so she can give her opinion – thankfully, he later finds out that it’s just a bizarre reaction to a virus.

A Hotel Manager’s Revenge Goes Wrong (Season 1, Episode 6)

After battling it out with spoiled guest Shane Patton (Jake Lacy) for the entire season, Armond (Murray Bartlett), the manager of the White Lotus resort on Maui, gets revenge by sneaking into his room and defecating into his luggage. But his plan goes wrong when Shane comes back into the room and stabs him, confusing him for a more dangerous intruder. This results in Armond’s untimely death.

The Truth About Jack and Quentin’s Nephew/Uncle Relationship (Season 2, Episode 5)

Despite the fact that they initially introduced themselves as uncle and nephew, Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge) gets the shock of her life when she nearly walks in on Jack (Leo Woodall) and Quentin (Tom Hollander) having sex.

It’s later revealed they are likely not family and that their sexual relationship is potentially a paid arrangement between them.

Daphne Hints Her Child Is Not Her Husband’s (Season 2, Episode 5)

While tiptoeing around how she handles her husband Cameron Sullivan’s (Theo James) infidelity, Daphne Sullivan (Meghann Fahy) hints to Harper Spiller (Aubrey Plaza) that her blonde-haired, blue-eyed son was actually fathered by her personal trainer – not Cameron.

Tanya’s Death (Season 2, Episode 7)

Tanya’s death was subtly foreshadowed in season 1, but her husband Greg Hunt’s (Jon Gries) plot to murder her for her fortune became clear toward the end of season 2. It was still heartbreaking and shocking to see the beloved-yet-zany character finally meet her demise – particularly because it’d been theorized by fans that she would appear in every season.

Frank’s Monologue (Season 3, Episode 5)

A casual catch-up between friends became a surprising confession when Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins) met up with old pal Frank (Sam Rockwell) at a hotel bar in Bangkok.

Despite previously being a heavy partier, Frank reveals that he got sober in a spiraling speech on desire, identity and … probably too much information for Rick. Sam expertly delivers a roughly 10-page monologue graphically detailing his addiction to sex and his attraction to Asian women in Thailand before admitting he realized that he may, in fact, want to be an Asian woman himself. His confession that he found or hired men that looked like himself for sex left Rick’s jaw hanging open and has since inspired many a meme.

Tim’s Fake-Out Suicide/Murder Moment (Season 3, Episode 6)

Throughout season 3, Tim Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) has been wrestling with thoughts of suicide since learning that his embezzlement will likely land him, his business partner and potentially one of his sons in prison.

The situation appears to come to a head in episode 6, when he has a shocking vision of killing himself. Later in the episode, after his wife, Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey), tells him if she wasn’t rich, she’d rather be dead, Tim has an unsettling vision of killing her to save her from the pain of his crimes.

Saxon and Lochlan’s Incest Storyline (Season 3, Episode 6)

Brothers Saxon Ratliff (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan Ratliff’s (Sam Nivola) potential intimate moments had been hinted at from the first episode of season 3 with Lochlan’s lingering gazes and Saxon’s nudity in their shared hotel room – not to mention Saxon’s constant attempts to interfere with his younger brother’s sex life.

Later in the season, the storyline is revisited when the pair meet up with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) during the Full-Moon Party. Spurred on by alcohol and drugs, things get weird Chloe dares the brothers to kiss. Their peck turns into a makeout session and it’s later revealed through shocking glimpses of alcohol-blurred memories that they had a threesome with Chloe.
