Tommy Lee Jones’ Daughter Victoria Found Dead at San Francisco Hotel — Here’s Everything We Know So Far
Victoria Jones, the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, has died. She was 34.
Victoria was found unresponsive in the early hours of New Year’s Day at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco, according to TMZ, which cited law enforcement sources. A spokesperson for the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed the news, telling multiple outlets that emergency crews were called to the hotel at 2:52 a.m.
“Our units responded to the scene, performed an assessment and declared one person deceased,” the spokesperson said, adding that the San Francisco Police Department and the medical examiner’s office then took over the investigation.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
More details emerged after a 911 dispatch audio was obtained by TMZ on Friday. In the recording, the incident was described as a “code 3 for the overdose, color change.” An overdose with a “color change” often refers to cyanosis, which is a “discoloration of the skin, lips or fingernails caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood,” according to the Cleveland Clinic. However, Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics arrived.
Authorities with the San Francisco Police Department arrived at the hotel at approximately 3:14 a.m. local time, per the Daily Mail, and the case was turned over for further investigation. According to the outlet, there were no signs of foul play, no drug paraphernalia found at the scene, and no indication that her death was a suicide.
It remains unclear whether Victoria was a guest at the hotel or how she accessed the 14th floor, where she was found. The Daily Mail reported that a fellow hotel guest alerted staff after discovering her unresponsive in a corridor.
A representative for Tommy Lee Jones did not immediately return Life & Style’s request for comment.
Victoria was the second child of the Men in Black star and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. She is survived by her brother, Austin, 43.
As a child, Victoria briefly followed in her father’s acting footsteps, appearing in Men in Black II, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada—which was directed by her father—and the TV series One Tree Hill. Though she later stepped away from acting, she occasionally accompanied Tommy Lee Jones to red carpet events.
In a 2006 interview with The New Yorker, the actor spoke proudly of his daughter, saying Victoria is “a good actress, has her sag card, speaks impeccable Spanish.”
“When she was a baby, I told Leticia, her nurse, to speak to her in Spanish,” he added.
An investigation into Victoria Jones’ death is ongoing.
