‘Bachelor’ Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi Are Moving on After Calling off Engagement!
There won't be any wedding bells for The Bachelor stars Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi. The reality stars confirmed their breakup to E! just five months after he popped the question on national TV.
"It's with a great amount of heartbreak for the both of us as we have decided to end our engagement," the duo told the outlet at the time. "We gave this relationship our all and we are saddened that we did not get the fairytale ending we hoped for. We will continue to be there for each other no matter what. This hasn't been an easy decision, however, as we part ways, we do so with lots of love and admiration for each other."
However, it seems both are ready to move on! Vanessa has been spotted with a hot new guy, professional hockey player Brendan Gallagher, and the Canadian couple is having fun. "They’ve been talking and hanging out together," her rep said. "They’re cute. It’s all relatively new."
As for Nick, he is pursuing his acting career, with his first scripted appearance in the ABC series, Speechless alongside Minnie Driver airing Wednesday, Nov. 29. He recently admitted he was done with reality TV, saying, "I have zero plans to do reality TV. I'm certainly done with anything Bachelor-related, but I'm very thankful for my time."
The split didn't come as a huge shock to Bachelor nation who have been speculating problems in the relationship for some time now. The couple attended a Carly and Evan Bass' wedding in Mexico this past summer and an eyewitness noticed they "looked miserable" on the flight back home.
Plus, from the very start, the couple was in no rush to walk down the aisle. Nick, 37, and Vanessa, 29, who announced their engagement in March, revealed to Life & Style back in June that they hadn't even started wedding planning yet! Instead, they said they were "focusing on our relationship as it is now." Right…
Also, shortly after the finale aired, the couple moved to Hollywood and sources revealed exclusively to Life & Style that Vanessa was jealous of fiancé Nick's newfound fame. Former teacher Vanessa, who’s trying to get acting work, “absolutely hates that Nick is getting more attention than her,” a source said at the time. “She has a manager and an agent, but her acting career hasn’t gotten off the ground.”
