ICYMI, Phaedra Parks Got Fired From ‘RHOA’ for Spreading a Nasty Rumor About Kandi
Girl, bye! In case you’ve been wondering why Phaedra Parks is no longer part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast, we’re here to recap the epic lie that led to Bravo’s decision to give her the boot after appearing on the hit reality series for seven seasons. It all started during Season 9, when Phaedra, 44, spread a vicious rumor about her ex-BFF Kandi Burruss.
As fans are well aware, Phaedra’s reputation went down in flames during the Season 9 reunion, when she admitted to telling her close pal Porsha Williams that Kandi, 41, and Kandi’s husband, Todd Tucker, had planned on drugging Porsha and taking her home — even though it wasn’t true. Phaedra apologized to both women at the reunion and acknowledged that she “shouldn’t have repeated” the blatant lie.

However, Kandi recently told Life & Style that she “doesn’t want to communicate” with the disgraced attorney ever again. The Xscape songstress — who will be making her debut in the long-running Broadway production of Chicago as Matron “Mama” Morton in January — also said that she is unsure if she will ever be able to forgive Porsha, 36, for her role in perpetuating the false story.
“I don’t take drugging people lightly and I don’t take it lightly when someone lies about it and makes that up. Me personally, I don’t know in what world would somebody lie about drug and rape and you just forgive them overnight,” she told Life & Style. “It doesn’t work like that for me personally, and I was doing pretty good by even being cordial so soon.”

The Grammy-winning songwriter added, “You gotta think, the whole [Season 9] reunion just aired in April or May, and she and I didn’t talk the whole off-time we weren’t taping, then we had to be back around each other around the end of June or early July. It wasn’t like that much time had passed for me to think it’s all good.”
Since then, Phaedra (who served as a bridesmaid in Kandi’s 2014 wedding to Todd) has kept quiet about the scandal. Still, the mother-of-two — who shares sons Ayden, 7, and Dylan, 4, with ex-husband Apollo Nida – revealed in November that she is officially over reality TV, and has decided to focus on her burgeoning modeling career.
“I have the opportunity to show people that beauty can come in every size, shade, color and age,” Phaedra, who recently signed a contract with the prestigious agency Wilhelmina Models, told Us Weekly last month. “It’s exciting and an adventure!”
