It's official: Season 2 of Stranger Things comes out on Oct. 27 — and the Internet can't contain its excitement!

Five months after the first teaser trailer for the Netflix series aired during the Super Bowl, the streaming service released a new poster that features a mysterious multi-legged monster.

According to actor David Harbour, who plays police chief Jim Hooper on the show, this season is "going to be a lot darker, and a lot bigger, and a lot faster-paced, and there's a lot of scares, and there's a lot of humor, so it's just a very different flavor."

Executive producer and director Shawn Levy added, “[Co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer] and I are slightly superstitious, so it was important to us that we replicate the mojo of Season 1. “There’s a lot of talk about the move to darker threats and larger cinematic scale, but here’s the thing: Stranger Things works because we root for these kids and we root for these damaged characters that live on the margins."

He continued, "No one in the show is like a perfect, popular winner, everyone is struggling with the bit of that feeling of being on the outside looking in, and that’s true of the teenagers, the adults and the kids, and we know that what brought us here is characters that people connect to and feel authentic and that you root for, so season two is every bit as loyal to character first.”

It'll be interesting to see how the relationship between Nancy and Jonathan progresses, given that the actors who play them, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton, are dating in real life. As Life & Style exclusively reported earlier this year, the two became a couple before the new season started filming last year.

Only three-and-a-half months to wait until the premiere!
