Animal lovers, rejoice! April the Giraffe is currently pregnant with her fifth calf and she’ll reportedly be going into labor any day now. Keepers at the Animal Adventure Park in New York have been giving updates on April’s condition and it was revealed that her calf’s birth is “imminent.”

According to a new statement released on March 6, it won’t be long until she’s a mother-of-five. To watch the miracle take place, fans are tuning into a livestream via the Animal Adventure Park’s YouTube channel. People can also opt to receive text message updates at aprilthegiraffealert.com.

“April’s evening brought new changes this morning, prompting keeper notification sent to both park management and veterinary team,” the post read. As far as her physical changes, her medical team noticed that April’s “udders have filled,” and they also spotted a “yellow/cloudy discharge.” They said it could be within hours, a day or even the very near future that April welcomes her calf.

The post added, “What I will promise, it won’t be two months of waiting!” After the birth of her last calf, she became an online sensation. In fact, more than 1.2 million people watched her give birth to son Tajiri. April’s new addition will be her fifth overall but her second with Oliver, the giraffe she lives with at the Animal Adventure Park. The big news about her pregnancy was announced back in July 2018.

“The results are in and we are having a baby,” Animal Adventure Park owner Jordan Patch said at the time. It’s going to be quite a viewing spectacle because when giraffe calves are born, they apparently fall six feet to the ground. According to one of the updates, “giraffe moms birth while standing” and even though it seems hard on them, it actually serves many great purposes.
