Pearl’s identity was revealed during the season 13 finale on May 7, 2025. After she was declared the winner, Pearl was unmasked and fans were delighted to learn that Gretchen Wilson was the voice behind the character.
Clues About Pearl’s Identity on ‘The Masked Singer’
Pearl made her debut during Voices of Olympus: Unmasking of the Gods Night during season 13 in March 2025. The masked celebrity gave a handful of clues away during her package, especially when she reflected on her past.
“Oh my, look at her! She’s so fancy! Just like a pearl, you gotta crack through a pretty tough exterior to find the treasure inside. The same’s been said about me my whole life,” Pearl said. “Growing up, I’ve always loved performing. But people like me weren’t promised a chance at a big break.”
Pearl revealed she accepted any gig that landed her way, “from discount stores to dive bars, praying that someone would see a pearl of talent within me.”
“Eventually, the world was my oyster, but I’ve never been able to shake that hard exterior,” she continued. “And it’s affected every aspect of my life, especially love.”
Pearl’s clue package was set oceanside, with a baseball bat, a pink umbrella and cherry props featured throughout separate parts of the video.
On the big stage, Pearl electrified the room with her raspy voice as she sang the late Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love For You.” While chatting with host Nick Cannon after her performance, Pearl gave away a few personal clues, revealing she attends red carpet events and says she gets her outfits on sale.
The Judges’ Guesses for Pearl on ‘The Masked Singer’
Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong were blown away by Pearl’s vocals and each guessed a different celebrity behind the mask.
Jenny guessed Shania Twain, while Rita guessed Joan Jett and liked her guess to the cherries, connecting it to Joan’s smash hit “Cherry Bomb.”
Robin, for his part, thought actress Regina King rocked the stage.
Fan Guesses for Pearl on ‘The Masked Singer’
The official Masked Singer Instagram account shared a clip of Pearl’s performance on March 5, 2025.
“There isn’t anything more timeless than this dazzling performance from #PearlMask!” the show captioned the post.
The comments section was filled with fans’ guesses of Pearl’s real identity.
One fan reacted to Rita’s guest, writing, “Well I know who it isn’t. It ain’t Joan Jett Ms Rita ORAAAAAA.”
The most-guessed name was none other than country star Gretchen, which ultimately ended up being correct.
“Wow she really does sound like Gretchen Wilson!” a second fan wrote, while a third commented, “I think this is Gretchen Wilson!!”
Keke Palmer was also a standout guess, with a fifth fan writing, “The way she said ‘the whole’ makes me think keke palmer. That’s who I’m sticking with.”
“That’s Keke if I’ve ever heard it,” a separate fan agreed.
However, quite a few fans didn’t agree with the Keke theory.
“That person sounds wayyyy more seasoned than Keke Palmer… are y’all OK with these guesses??!!” another person argued.
