Here’s Why We’re Literally Obsessed With ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Contestant Sasha Pieterse

It’s one of the best times of the year when Dancing With the Stars graces the small screen. Every season, our favorite celebrities team up with professional dancers in order to compete for the coveted prize of the Mirrorball trophy — and this year, all eyes are on South African-born Sasha Pieterse. So — who is she? Let’s get to know this season’s contestant, who is dancing with Gleb Savchenko.

1. She’s a pretty little liar.

Fans may recognize the singer and actress from her role as Alison DiLaurentis in Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars.

2. But, that’s not all.

Sasha has also made appearances in TV shows Family Affair and Heroes. On the movie front, the star has been seen in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D and Disney Channel’s Geek Charming.

3. She is off the market.

The actress has been engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Hudson Sheaffer since 2015. We’ve seen him act in When She Smiles and Woman Warrior, and he’s also worked on Closure, The Dalhia Knights, and Subcultures.

4. They’re both chill AF when it comes to wedding planning.

Sasha previously revealed in an interview with People back in March that the experience has been “really surreal, but I’m glad that my fiancé Hudson and I are on the same page. We have the same style, so it makes it really simple, really easy.” She also added, “He’s like, ‘This is what’s important to me, and then you can do whatever else you want,’ which I respect. There’s nothing that he is crazy about — that I love too. We gel together really well.”

5. This isn’t the first time she’s been asked to join the franchise.

“I’m really glad to be a part of this season. They asked me, like, I’d say three or four years ago and I wasn’t able to do it. Scheduling was a nightmare and they said that they’d come back around. And they came back around, which was so awesome and this is the 25th season!” she told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month.

Dancing With the Stars Season 25 premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.
