Chloe Lukasiak Basically Left ‘Dance Moms’ Because “Her Old Teacher” Was a B—h to Her
We’ve definitely seen the Dance Moms stars come and go over the years, but one we can’t particularly shake is Chloe Lukasiak. The reality star left the Lifetime series in 2014 — but many fans are still wondering: why did Chloe leave Dance Moms? She answers this and everything else you want to know in her book, Girl on Pointe: Chloe’s Guide to Taking on the World — due out in January 2018 — and also opened up to People about her abrupt departure.
“The reason for leaving the show was my old teacher mocked my eye very bluntly; I was dealing with some serious health issues. [My exit] was very abrupt and I didn’t expect to leave obviously. But after that happened my mom and I just kind of talked about it and it didn’t seem right to go back,” she said of her former coach Abby Lee Miller.

“It didn’t feel like it was a good environment for me to be in anymore. I don’t regret what I did at all. I’m very happy I left when I did. I think it only would’ve gotten way worse. I don’t think that would’ve been good for my mom [Christi] or me, for our mental state. Everything happens for a reason so I was glad I left.”
Chloe’s mother, Christi, seemingly echoed these claims during a previous interview with The Morning Show in Australia. She explained, “As things got progressively worse, I think you can see I definitely changed as the series went on. At the end, I just said it’s time to be done. I think that we were just sort of watching and seeing what was best for Chloe and when it was time we knew it, and we moved on.”
