The former wrestling superstar, whose real is Joanie Laurer, was found dead in her apartment Wednesday night, and officials are investigating her death as a possible overdose. She was 46.
A statement was released on her Twitter account confirming her passing. "It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her," the tweet reads.
According to TMZ, after Chyna had not been seen or heard from in a few days, a friend went to check on her and found the brunette beauty unresponsive in her bedroom.
The entertainer has an unfortunate history of substance abuse, appearing on Celebrity Rehab in 2008. However, no illegal drugs were found in her home.
The larger-than-life star had recently turned her life around, going from porn star to teaching English in Japan.
