Things aren’t looking good for Ben Affleck, and ex Jennifer Garner is growing more and more concerned about his alcohol use. As the Batman star moves on with new girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, it seems as though he’s been hitting the bottle again.

Although the couple was recently spotted grocery shopping in Naples, ME — “They were hugging and stopped for a quick kiss,” an employee exclusively tells Life & Style — they were spotted exiting the store with two bottles of rosé and a bottle of Skinnygirl Margarita in tow.

This isn’t the first time Ben has been seen drinking with the TV producer. He shared a bottle of red wine with Lindsay over dinner at LA’s Giorgio Baldi on July 6, just four months after the actor, 44, revealed he’d completed his second rehab stint for alcohol addiction (his first was in 2001). Needless to say, Jen is growing concerned. “She has done everything she possibly can over the years to help him get sober and battle his demons,” an insider says. But she’s not about to let her ex’s problems take over her life.

“Things are much calmer, and Jen is finally feeling peace in her life for the first time in years,” the source says. “Of course, she cares about Ben, but Jen’s feeling is that he is no longer her problem. Jen is concerned about Ben because he is the father of their three children but she truly does feel that he’s Lindsay’s problem now.”

Though seeing him return to drinking is difficult, the actress isn’t necessarily surprised. “Jen thinks it’s an absolute disaster,” the insider reveals. “She knows Ben is his own worst enemy. He can’t thrive without drama and angst.” We hope the duo’s children — Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5 — are doing well during this difficult time.
