Laverne Cox Was So Impressed by Nine-Year-Old ‘America’s Got Talent’ Singer Celine Tam That She Pressed the Golden Buzzer!
She proved her heart will go on — straight to the America's Got Talent live shows! Celine Tam's parents named her after their favorite singer, powerhouse Celine Dion, and the adorable nine-year-old lived up to her namesake during tonight's performance on AGT! She wowed guest judge — Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox — so much that she earned her golden buzzer.
For her second performance, Celine chose Michael Bolton's 1989 hit "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You," which she said is a song that represented her bond with her younger sister, Dion — who was cheering her big sister on from the crowd with their parents.

Laverne couldn't help but gush after Celine finished her performance. "I just want to eat you up and take you home," the actress said. "You are so adorable and so cute and your voice is amazing, you are so talented — I'm really blown away, I might just have to…" she continued, then hit the button and showered Celine in golden confetti.
Celine looked like she was in shock, but she took to Twitter afterward to express how excited she was about moving forward in the competition. "Oh my gosh, I just received the [Golden Buzzer] from [Laverne!" she tweeted. "Thank you so much judges, I can’t wait to see you at LIVE SHOWS!"

AGT fans were introduced to Celine last month when she performed Celine Dion's 1997 hit song "My Heart Will Go On," which was one of the first songs she ever learned to sing as a little girl. “When I was in the car, my dad was driving and suddenly I just sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and he was like, ‘Wow!’ ” she told judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B. “It’s my dream to be on America’s Got Talent."
