The Amanda Show
Bring in the dancing lobsters! In 1999, Amanda got her own show called “The Amanda Show,” which featured many sketches including Judge Trudy, Moody’s Point, The Girl’s Room and Hillbilly Moment. Drake Bell and Josh Peck also starred in the Nickelodeon show.
“Amanda to me was like Carol Burnett, she was Lucille Ball. She was this big star,” Drake said an interview in September 2018. “When we were together, I would watch her — not so much as peer — but somebody like … as if Carol Burnett was on the stage. She was so quick, man. And she was just always on.”

Big Fat Liar
The brunette beauty’s first major role was in Big Fat Liar which also starred Frankie Muniz and Paul Giamatti. In the film, Amanda’s character, Kaylee, and her BFF, Jason, fly to Los Angeles to prove to Hollywood producer Marty Wolf that he stole Jason’s idea and turned it into a movie. Amanda + Frankie = an amazing dynamic duo.

What I Like About You
In this WB sitcom, Amanda plays Holly, a teenager who ends up bunking with her older sister, Valerie (Jennie Garth). Of course, chaos ensues, and Holly has an on and off relationship with Vince (Nick Zano). This show always showed us the most ridiculous situations these characters would get in.

She’s the Man
Ugh, who could forget this movie? There are just too many epic lines. Do you like cheese? Anyways, in the movie, Amanda’s character dressed up like a boy so that she could try out for the men’s soccer team. Unfortunately, her plan gets a little messed up as she ends up falling in love with her handsome roommate, Duke (Channing Tatum).
“I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] that movie, because he wasn’t famous yet,” the actress told Paper magazine in November 2018. “He’d just done a Mountain Drew commercial, and I was like, ‘This guy’s a star — every girl will love him!’ But [the producers] were like, ‘He’s so much older than all of you!’ And I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter! Trust me!’” You did good, girl.

Hairspray
In the remake of Hairspray, Amanda played Penny Pingleton. “That movie to this day was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had on a set,” she said of getting to act and dance alongside John Travolta and Zac Efron. The Nickelodeon alum even sang in the movie!

Sydney White
In this modern adaptation of Snow White, Amanda plays Sydney White, who goes to college hoping to rush her late mother’s sorority. However, she realizes that she doesn’t quite fit in with everyone and befriends seven dorks. “Sorry, I’m still learning to speak priss,” she said to the antagonist in the film. Boom.

Easy A
Easy A was Amanda’s last film to date. However, for the first time, she played the mean girl opposite Emma Stone. After seeing the movie, Amanda thought it was time to leave Hollywood behind — for good. “I was convinced that I should never be on camera again and I officially retired on Twitter, which was, you know, also stupid,” she said.
We hope that she makes an epic comeback sooner than later! We love you, girl.
