Bravo fans can hardly wait for the upcoming season of Vanderpump Rules, and Life & Style caught up with the mastermind behind the popular reality series, Andy Cohen, about why the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin-off about Lisa Vanderpump and restaurants SUR-vers works so well.
“The thing about Lisa’s restaurant is it’s been going for 10 years or more and they’ve all worked there the whole time. [Real Housewives of Atlanta star] Kandi [Burruss]‘s restaurant started, but part of the reason Vanderpump Rules works is that those people have relationships going back for many years,” he shared.
The Watch What Happens Live host also got us even more hyped for Season 6, which premieres on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo. “The thing I’ll tell you is from the moment it starts, all hell breaks loose,” he teased. “Like, you can’t believe how the first episode starts. Jax [Taylor] is at it again!” Yikes — that doesn’t sound good.
Life & Style caught up with Andy to talk about his partnership with Purina, as he is the spokesperson of this year’s National Dog Show Presented by Purina, which airs on Thanksgiving Day at 12 p.m. on NBC. “I’m a very public dog lover and I often am posting about my dog,” he gushed. “It’s a great partnership. It makes sense to work with Purina. They do great things for animals and they give back to the community and I believe in that.”
When asked what he’s looking forward to most about this year’s show, Andy replied, “It’s just fun! There’s 175 breeds, there are 2,000 dogs, one winner — I was a big Best in Show fan so it’s funny to watch it in the shadow of loving that movie.” He also encouraged all his fans to join the #DogThanking campaign, where “if you post from now through the Sunday after Thanksgiving — you post like, why you love your pet, and use #DogThanking and tag Purina, they’ll give $1 for every post for hurricane relief. It’s great! It’s really cool.”
