Anna Faris ‘Looks Forward’ to Meeting Ex Chris Pratt and Wife Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Newborn Daughter
One big, happy family! Anna Faris “looks forward” to meeting ex Chris Pratt and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger‘s newborn daughter, Lyla Maria, a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “She sent her well wishes to Chris and Katherine.”
The Guardians of the Galaxy actor, 41, and the Maverick and Me author, 30, announced the birth of their first child together on Monday, August 10. Chris also shares son Jack Pratt, 7, with Anna. The former flames, who were married for eight years, are successful coparents following their divorce in October 2018.
According to the insider, the House Bunny actress, 43, is “excited” for Jack to have a sibling. “Anna says Katherine is a wonderful stepmom, so there’s no animosity there whatsoever. Anna’s just as thrilled to see Jack interact with little Lyla Maria as they are.”
Chris and Katherine were definitely eager to start a family but wanted to wait until after they tied the knot. “They’ve had babies on the brain for months,” a separate source told Life & Style following their June 2019 nuptials. “Now that the wedding is out of the way, they’re already trying for a baby.”
Katherine’s strong connection with Jack played a huge role in Chris’ decision to settle down with her. “Dating a guy with a kid can be intimidating, but Katherine has eased into this scenario no problem,” a third insider previously told Life & Style.
“She’s a natural with kids and it helps that she had so many younger siblings growing up. She’s very maternal and has an innate ability to understand creative little minds,” the insider continued. “Chris is blown away at how she can handle temper tantrums and silly fits without breaking a sweat. That’s one of the reasons why he fell in love with her. Jack adores her and Anna appreciates that Chris chose so well.”
In the past, Katherine has expressed her admiration for Anna as well — especially in business. “[Anna] has an incredibly successful podcast,” she told Us Weekly in May 2019. “I really admire all the work that she’s done, and she’s definitely an expert at it.”
